We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months. As we enter the re-emergence phase of this crisis I am writing to let you know of the changes in our workflow and infection control. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety and your oral health!
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your past visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable.
Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S.Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. Our goal is to exceed these standards and provide the safest environment for our patients, staff and families.
You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and all healthcare workers. For example:
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
To ensure that patients arriving are healthy, the office will call you before your appointment to review your current health by asking some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you arrive at the office. We ask that you not bring anyone to your appointment in order to maintain social distancing. The office will be kept cooler due to the PPE that we are wearing so you may want to bring a sweater.
AT YOUR APPOINTMENT
As soon as you have parked by our office please call (973-731-0087) or text us at (973-525-5251). We will let you know when we are ready for you. This will reduce the number of people in the office and decrease the amount of time you are close to other people.
Be sure to wear a mask to your appointment. One of our staff members will meet you by the inner door of the office. They will ask you the same screening questions that were asked at the appointment confirmation call. You will also have your temperature taken via a touchless thermometer. If your temperature is under 100.4, you will be escorted in and asked to use the hand sanitizer. Then you will be led to our treatment room. We will be giving you a pre-operative rinse that has been found to reduce oral microorganisms.
AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT
You will be escorted to the front desk briefly for any additional information, payments and appointments.
We know this may sound overwhelming but we are here to help every step of the way.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have.
To make an appointment, please call our office at 973-731-0087.
Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back ourpatients, neighbors and friends.
